Hello! I’m a story editor and digital strategist with more than a decade of feature editing and management experience in digital and print media.
I am currently the Deputy Editor on the features team at WIRED. I’ve previously held senior editor positions at GEN, Topic, Longreads, The New Republic, and Lapham's Quarterly, and I have been a contributing editor for Radiolab, Columbia Journalism Review, and No Man’s Land, the biannual magazine of The Wing.
I like to publish feature writing that is rigorously researched and reported, as well as emotionally intelligent and driven by storytelling, with characters like:
• Toxic girl bosses who reach the end of their reign
• People willing to risk it all for love and sex in a pandemic
• Evangelical women abandoning Trump and their churches
• Women who kill their abusers only to be trapped in the justice system
• Disney workers who just want to be paid a fair wage
• Cat breeders who’ve designed the world’s chillest feline
• Fathers who come together to punch out their insecurities
• Mothers who just want to do LSD in peace
• Teens who live out their hopes and dreams out on Tumblr
• Sailors who risk their sanity in a solo race around the world
• Hippies who give up on their San Francisco utopia
• Politicians who know how to make an audience laugh
• A charismatic philanthropist who gives his millions away, one newspaper column at a time.
I also design editorial workflows, mentor young journalists and develop editorial talent, and edit book proposals and newsletter content.
